DISCOVER THE BASICS OF INDIAN MUSIC

I. Raga -
Melodic structure of Indian music

Diagram showing the time of day to sing some of the ragas.

Raga. What is it, meaning and concept?

Rāga (in Sanskrit राग ‘rāga’ (masc.) literally means “colour” or ‘mood’. In general, each Raga is a melody based on the composition and improvisation of 5, 6 or 7 notes.

The particular combination and order of these notes (ascending Aroha and descending Avaroha) creates a melody.

Chanting Mantras
Energies of infinite potential, whose transcendental vibration opens our hearts and connects us with the divine.
